The Global Talent route is for people aged 18 or over who are leaders or potential leaders in academia or research, arts and culture, or digital technology. It can provide flexible permission to work without requiring sponsorship by a specific employer.
Most applicants must first obtain endorsement from the body responsible for their field. A person who holds a qualifying prestigious prize listed in the Immigration Rules may apply without endorsement.

- Digital technology, including qualifying technical and business expertise
- Arts and culture, including combined arts, dance, literature, music, theatre and visual arts
- Architecture, fashion design, film and television under the relevant criteria
- Newly recognised specialist pathways where listed by the endorsing bodies

- Eligibility for the correct field and endorsing body
- Exceptional talent or exceptional promise, where that distinction applies
- A strong record of achievement, recognition and contribution
- Documents in the required format and within any date limits
- A qualifying prestigious prize if applying without endorsement
- Suitability and valid immigration status for the visa stage
